As a member of our team, you will partner with SOF military and civilian members to directly support this mission by providing world-class Information Technology services and support that connect over 60,000 users around the world.   Job DescriptionWeb Engineers should have in-depth knowledge of Internet protocols and applications, in addition to a solid understanding of business strategy. They need strong communication skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Sample code and web links to sample work may be requested. Candidates should be well-versed in web technologies and tools, such as JavaScript, Asynchronous JavaScript and Extensible Markup Language (AJAX), Adobe ColdFusion, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)/Dynamic HTML (DHTML), Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP (LAMP), and others. This role involves working in all layers of the web application stack, including the front end (e.g., markup, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript), web services, databases, and other relevant technologies. Typical Duties• Gathering Business requirements and developing specifications for web-based applications• Providing technical assistance to web administrators• Integrating websites with back-end systems such as databases• Writing test plans, executing test plans and documenting test results • Writing easy to read, maintainable, testable code in languages such as Java, C# or JavaScript, as well as a number of other technologies• Installing, customizing, updating and maintaining internal and external enterprise web pages and sites using technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and ASP• Keeping technology stacks fresh so they are maintainable and consistently provide good user experiences• Working closely with other developers, designers, testers and project leads• Enhancing and maintaining existing applications written in a variety of languages and frameworks• Ensure proactive engagement in Incident Management process, working with cross-functional teams to minimize the impact of application outages Education:  BS degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or an MS degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline, and seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline, and two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience. Required Experience: 8 years of experience operating, maintaining and upgrading Microsoft SharePoint 2010/2013 farms4 years of experience developing web applications 4 years of experience building Spring-based Java applications Experience with the development of mobile applicationsRequired Certification: Employment is contingent upon keeping required certifications current• MCSA: Office 365• DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher Preferred Experience:Experience using C#Experience with Node.jsKnowledge of Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins)Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker)Background in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NiFi) and data scienceExperience developing enterprise search applicationsPreferred Certifications: MCSE: Productivity with one specialty elective for SharePointWork Environment:• Work will be performed inside a large facility. Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Position could require some night and weekend work.  Physical Requirements:• Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone. Equipment and Machines:• General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Attendance:• Work assignments dependent on requirements by the client. It is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday).• On-Call or after hours support may be required Travel:• Continental and Oversees travel may be required. It is important to maintain a current passport. Other Essential Functions:• Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on clients standards.
